We have finally got our ADS 12 developer licenses thanks to the appreciated efforts of an Italian lady of the sales team who was able to do this in a few days were others couldn't do it in weeks or just didn't reply to their mails.
I have installed ADS 12 on our system and for VO it works with both the V11 DLL's and the V12 DLL's. I suspect after comparing code that when I include the dbfaxs.aef and ace.aef code in our VO programs our program will work for clients using ADS 11 and ADS 12. Correct?
The Vulcan program however seems to be a problem. In Visual Studio, we point in References to the RDD and for that reason it needs to be exactly the RDD which is installed. That would be very inconvenient because we would need to create exe's from our Vulcan programs for clients using ADS 11 and clients using ADS 12. Or is there a smarter way to do so?
A final consideration could be, that if we buy new licenses, to downgrade those clients to V11. It is difficult to determine what is really new (e.g. What's New In Advantage 12 suggests that on line index is new but that isn't, that was already new in V11) and if the list of improvements/changes is small it may be more convenient to have all clients use ADS 11. So my 3rd question is: do buyers of a new ADS 12 get a ADS 11 key too (at least my developer version had both)?
